Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

St Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School is an inclusive school where we
believe that each teacher is responsible for all of the children in their class.

In order to meet the needs of all our pupils, the staff work in partnership with parents and carers to endeavour to remove barriers to learning.

We use a variety of teaching strategies to maximise children’s ability to access the curriculum, develop resources to support work in the classroom and run intervention sessions.  Where necessary, we seek advice from outside agencies.

The child’s view is also sought so that we can limit any anxieties and ensure that all barriers to learning are removed.  Parental input is also highly valued; working in a close partnership between child, parent and school ensures the best outcomes for the child during their time at St Mary Immaculate.
