Starting School
Arrangements for New Children Starting at the School
Children start school in the September of the academic year in which they turn five.
Warwickshire County Council is responsible for overseeing the admissions procedure for children beginning their first year in maintained schools.
If you wish to send your child to St Mary Immaculate it is important that you place the school first on your preference form.

The transition from home to school is a key time for any child. Our wish is to make this transition as smooth as possible for each child , providing security and developing self-confidence.
Induction Process
In July, before the children start school, we invite parents to join us for a welcome meeting. This provides an opportunity to look at uniform, meet other parents and find out more about life at St Mary Immaculate.
During the first week of the new academic year, the Reception teacher and teaching assistant make home visits to all of our new children, so that we can get to know you and your child in a one-to-one environment, demonstrating how school and home will work together during your time at our school.
On Monday of the second week of the school year, the new children begin Reception, starting slightly later on this first day at 10am. Going forwards the children are in school full time, starting at 8.55am.
