Plastic Waste Assembly - Wednesday 15th November

Today, Ruth from Warwickshire County Council Waste Department visited St Mary’s to speak all about plastic pollution and ways we can reduce plastic waste at school and at home. This gave the School Council food for though about what they can do within school and the local community.

Mass with Father Patrick - Monday 13th November

Thank you to those children who helped lead Mass today with Father Patrick

Rowing Competition - 25th September

Today, four Year 6 boys attended a rowing competition at Campion High School. They competed against 6 other schools in individual races and a relay race. They had lots of fun and were able to practice their teamwork as well as their rowing skills.

God’s Planet Theatre Day - 19th October

Meet the Teacher - 26th September

House Captains - 15th September

Today, during assembly, nine brave Year 6s gave a speech to the rest of the school to why they should become their House Captain. The children on Years 3,4,5 and 6 then voted to who they would like for their Captain.

Well done to:

Dolcieann - House Captain of John

Natalia - House Captain of Mark

Ty - House Captain of Matthew

Esme - House Captain of Luke

Ancient Day - 11th September

On Monday 11th September, the children in Year 5 and 6 participated in an Ancient Greek themed day to launch our history topic. The children were invited to dress up as Ancient Greeks and had a fun-filled day packed full of activities linked to Ancient Greece.

They started their day by creating Olympic-themed Olive Leaf Wreaths then had a go at writing their names in Ancient Greek.

After lunch, they used clay to create their own Ancient Greek-inspired vases (which Greeks used to store food, wine and even used as urns in some cases!) and had the opportunity to taste pitta bread and hummus.

As you can see, the hummus went down a storm!

We had a great day and a great start to our learning where the children will learn all about Ancient Greece: Gods and Goddesses, the history of the Olympic games and much, much more!

Mary Pounds

Our Mary Pounds are ready to go!
Children will start receiving Mary Pounds from Monday 25th September for attending and being on time for school. They will have opportunities to spend these throughout the year.

Well done to Grace for our winning design!
